Counterfeiting currency notes are minute by percentage against the total number of genuine notes in circulation. The State Bank of Pakistan makes every effort to combat counterfeiting to limit its impact on Pakistani currency notes and to maintain public confidence in Pakistani banknotes. The following efforts are made to secure the banknote:

New series of Pakistani notes have a number of security features that are easy to use but difficult to copy or counterfeit. All genuine banknotes have several security features (prevent from counterfeiting) that one can check easily and quickly.

We recommend few security features to verify the genuineness of the old and new series banknote that are:

• Watermark
• Security Thread
• Latent Image
• Optical Variable Ink (OVI)
• Intaglio Printing
• See Through
• Micro Printing
